TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions ("Agreement") are between the guitar tutor ("Tutor") and the student ("Student") for guitar tutoring services ("Services"). By engaging the Tutor for the Services, the Student agrees to be bound by this Agreement.
1. Services
-
The Tutor agrees to provide guitar tutoring services to the Student according to the agreed schedule and location.
2. Taster Lesson
-
Students have the option to book a one-off taster lesson before committing to a block of lessons. This taster lesson must be prepaid via bank transfer.
-
After completing the taster lesson, if the Student decides to continue, the 6-week block booking terms will apply as outlined below.
-
The taster lesson is non-refundable once booked and cannot be rolled over or counted as part of a block booking.
3. Payment and Booking
-
All lessons, including block bookings, are prepaid. Block bookings consist of 6 lessons to be used within a 6-week period.
-
Payment for block bookings must be made in full via bank transfer before the first lesson of the block can be scheduled.
-
Lessons will only be confirmed and scheduled upon receipt of payment.
4. Lesson Schedule
-
The 6 lessons included in the block booking must be completed within the 6-week period.
-
Lessons can be scheduled at mutually agreed times through the booking form, phone, or email.
-
Students are responsible for arriving on time to lessons. No reimbursements will be offered for missed or shortened lessons due to late arrivals, as other students or commitments may follow.
5. Cancellations and Missed Lessons
-
Pass Week: Students are allowed one "pass week" during the 6-week period for illness, travel, or other commitments. This will extend the block by one week to ensure the full 6 lessons are received.
-
Student Cancellations: Further missed or canceled lessons by the Student will be considered used and are non-refundable. Students must provide 48 hours' notice if they cannot attend a scheduled lesson.
-
Same-Day Cancellations: If a lesson is canceled on the same day as the scheduled lesson, it will be forfeited and cannot be rescheduled.
-
Non-Eligible Reschedules: Reschedules will not be provided for missed lessons due to non-emergency appointments, playdates, games, or other non-critical activities.
-
Illness Policy: Students who are ill should not attend lessons. If they are too sick to attend school, they are too sick to attend their lesson. Students must notify the Tutor if they are unable to attend due to illness.
6. Tutor Availability
-
If the Tutor is unavailable due to personal reasons (e.g., illness or travel), the 6-week period will be paused, and the remaining lessons will resume upon the Tutor's return.
7. Lesson Extensions
-
The 6-week period can be extended under the following circumstances:
-
The Student uses their one allowed "pass week."
-
The Tutor is unavailable and needs to reschedule a lesson.
8. Refund Policy
-
If the Student decides not to participate before the 6-week block begins, they are entitled to a full refund, provided no lessons have been taken.
-
Once the first lesson of the block has been taken, no refunds will be issued.
-
No refunds will be given if the Student cancels or misses any lessons during the 6-week period, except in cases where the Tutor is unable to fulfil the agreed number of lessons due to personal reasons.
9. Refusal to Teach Unruly Students
-
The Tutor reserves the right to refuse to teach students who are consistently disruptive, uncooperative, or display inappropriate behaviour during lessons. In such cases, no refunds will be given for the remaining lessons in the block. Students are expected to behave respectfully and follow instructions during the lessons to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
10. DBS Checks
-
The Tutor agrees to provide full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks to the Student upon request.
11. Liability
-
The Tutor is not liable for any damage or injury incurred by the Student during the Services. The Student agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Tutor from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the Student's participation in the Services.
12. Intellectual Property
-
The Tutor retains all intellectual property rights in any materials provided to the Student as part of the Services.
13. Termination
-
Either party may terminate this Agreement with written notice to the other party. Upon termination, the Student will be liable for all fees due up to the date of termination.

-
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Services are provided.

The Tutor reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time, with prior notice given to students where applicable.
-
By engaging the Tutor for the Services, the Student acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
